When and where is the SIIM 2011 Annual Meeting?
The SIIM 2011 Annual Meeting and Exhibits will be held June 2-5 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, DC/National Harbor, MD.

What is the SIIM discounted hotel rate at the Gaylord National Resort?
- SIIM 2011 Rate: $199 single/double
- Housing Deadline: May 9, 2011
The SIIM rate includes the following resort amenities on a complimentary basis:
FREE wired and wireless high speed internet access in your room, daily newspaper, bottled water in your
room, fitness center access, and local and toll free 800 telephone calls.
When will registration open? What are the registration rates?
Registration is now open. A complete listing of registration rates is available.
What is the SIIM Member registration rate?
The early bird SIIM Member registration rate is $445. The on-site registration rate is $645.
I am not a SIIM Member. Can I still register for the meeting?
Yes, you can register for the meeting if you are not currently a SIIM Member. The non-member meeting rate includes a one-year SIIM membership. The early bird non-member rate is $595 and the on-site non-member rate is $645.
When is the Early Bird registration deadline?
Save money on your registration fee by registering by the early bird deadline of Monday, May 2, 2011.
I registered, but have not received a confirmation. How do I get another one sent to me?
Please email SIIM2011@siimweb.org to request a duplicate copy of your confirmation to be sent to you.
How do I register for the pre-meeting IIP Bootcamp scheduled on Wednesday, June 1?
Use the SIIM 2011 registration form to register for the IIP Bootcamp. The fee for the IIP Bootcamp is $250.
May I register for only one day?
Yes, the daily registration fee is $250.
May I register for the exhibit hall only?
There is not an exhibit hall only pass. A daily registration will provide you access to the exhibit hall and the program sessions for the day.
What do I need to qualify for the student/resident rate?
SIIM Resident/Full-Time Student members receive a complimentary meeting registration. To qualify for this rate, documentation of resident/full-time student status is required. Please note: you cannot be a full time student and have a full time job at the same time. So, the student registration is not available for persons who hold a normal job and are taking a degree program as an addition to their normal job.
Can I bring a spouse or guest to the program?
Yes, however spouses/companions must register for the meeting using the registration form at a rate of $50. The guest registration is designed to accommodate a spouse or family member who may wish to accompany a full meeting professional attendee to the meeting. Guests will have access to the sessions, exhibit hall, and the Welcome Reception. A guest may not earn any continuing education credits. If your spouse or family member is a medical professional who wishes to attend courses and/or earn credits, he/she will have to register separately and pay the appropriate registration fee.
What is the age limit for attending the meeting and exhibit hall?
For the safety of all parties, children under the age of 18 are not permitted to attend these activities.
I am a member of the press – do you have press registration?
Members of the press may request a complimentary press pass. All members of the press will be asked to complete a press registration form and verify their media credentials. The deadline for requesting media credentials is May 27, 2011. Onsite press registration will not be available at SIIM 2011.
How do I request a Letter of Invitation for a Visa?
If you require a letter of invitation for visa purposes, please email your request to SIIM2011@siimweb.org. An official letter will be emailed to you.
What is the meeting registration cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend the SIIM 2011 Annual Meeting for which you’ve registered, notify SIIM in writing. Cancellations must be received no later than May 9, 2011. All refunds are subject to an $80 cancellation fee. Requests for refunds will not be honored after May 9, 2011.
When will I receive my refund?
Please allow 30 days for your refund to be processed. All refunds will be issued back to the original payment type.
I can no longer attend the meeting. Can I send a substitute?
Yes, however the substitute must pay any difference in registration fee, if applicable.
How many continuing education credits are provided?
SIIM provides CME credits for physicians, CE credits for technologists and medical physicists, and Certificates of Attendance for IIPs. Please see the continuing education page.
Is shuttle service provided from the area airports?
SIIM does not provide shuttle service from the airport. However, the airport Super Shuttle service is available to provide transportation at a reasonable rate. Visit the travel page for more information.
Is shuttle service provided from the train station at Union Station?
SIIM does not provide shuttle service from the Amtrak train station at Union Station. However, the Gaylord does provide shuttle service for a reasonable rate during designated hours. Visit the travel page for online reservations.
Where do I pick up my meeting registration badge?
If you have pre-registered, you may pick-up registration badges at the on-site registration located at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, Level 2.
Can I register for the meeting on-site? What are the hours?
Yes, you will be able to register for the meeting on-site at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center during the following hours:
- Wednesday, June 1
4:00 pm – 8:00 pm - Thursday, June 2
6:30 am – 5:00 pm - Friday, June 3
7:00 am – 5:00 pm - Saturday, June 4
7:00 am – 5:00 pm - Sunday, June 5

A complete listing of exhibiting companies can be found on the SIIM 2011 website. Exhibiting companies are available in several listings – alphabetically, by product categories and by booth number.
What is the dress code for the meeting?
The dress code for the meeting is business casual.
Where can I find updated meeting information?
The most up-to-date SIIM annual meeting information will be posted on the SIIM 2011 website.
Where can I find updated meeting information while onsite?
The Final Program Guide & Planner will be distributed to all registered attendees. All updated meeting information and announcements will be available on the on-site SIIM 2011 website.
How do I gain access to the SIIM Annual Meeting functions?
Badges are required for all attendees and guest for admission to the following:
- General Sessions
- Educational & Scientific Program Sessions
- Exhibit Hall
- Welcome Reception
What night is the Welcome Reception?
The SIIM 2011 Party on the Potomac Welcome Reception will take place on Friday, June 3 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on the Orchard Terrace at the Gaylord National Resort.
Do I have to sign-up in advance for the educational and scientific sessions during the annual meeting?
Pre-registration is not required for the educational and scientific sessions. Only your badge is required for admission. The only exception is the Sunday Learning Series Learning Labs (please see the next question).
Do I have to sign-up in advance to attend the Sunday Learning Series Learning Labs?
Yes, you will be able to sign-up for the Sunday Learning Labs at on-site registration located at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, Level 2.
When are the SIIM-Affiliated User Group Meetings being held?
The SIIM-Affiliated User Group meetings will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. Registration information for the user groups can be found on the individual user group website.
Where will future annual meetings be held?
- SIIM 2012 – Orlando, Florida
June 7-10 - SIIM 2013 – Grapevine, Texas (Dallas area)
